METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING STILL IMAGE AND IMAGING TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a still image and an imaging terminal are provided to transmit a high-quality still image, and to easily embody an imaging terminal by using a frame memory of a decoder without adding a hardware. CONSTITUTION: An encoding core unit(740) encodes a picture frame inputted. An encoding frame memory(730) stores a previous picture frame for encoding the encoding core unit(740). A decoding core unit(790) decodes a motion picture. A decoding frame memory(780) stores a previous picture frame for decoding the decoding core unit(790) in case that a motion picture mode is executed, or stores a still image frame inputted from a camera in case that a still image mode is executed. Controllers(720,750) controls a data flow according to the motion picture mode or the still image mode. The first MUX(710) selects one among the still image frames stored in the decoding frame memory(780), and outputs the frame to the encoding core unit(740). The second MUX(770) selects one in the motion picture frame and the still image frame, and outputs the frame to the decoding frame memory(780). A reproduction unit(760) displays still image data stored in the controllers(720,750).
