PURPOSE: A cooling system of a diesel engine is provided to prevent an engine from damage owing to overheating by stopping the overheated engine automatically. CONSTITUTION: An engine is started by a start motor(SM) when a user turns on an ignition switch(IG1) and operates a push button(PB1). A cooling device and a lubricating device cool the engine by absorbing high-temperature heat during a power stroke. Cooling water or oil absorbing the engine heat is cooled by external air to cool the engine again. Thereby, a cooling cycle is formed. The cooling water or oil flows into a cylinder block with keeping high temperature if the cooling water or oil does not keep proper temperature and pressure by problems in the cooling device or the lubricating device. The temperature and pressure of the cooling water or oil are detected through a cooling water temperature sensor(S1) and an oil pressure sensor(S2). If one of the cooling water or oil rises up to high temperature, fuel is not supplied to an injection pump(10) and the engine is stopped. Therefore, the engine is prevented from damage due to overheating in the abnormality of the cooling device or the lubricating device.
