PURPOSE: A level gauge for a liquid storage tank is provided to accurately measure the surface by forming a gauge mechanically independent and electrically connected to measure the surface at needed steps. CONSTITUTION: A level gauge for a liquid storage tank(5) includes a plurality of resistance(3) having electric resistant value, a plurality of switch circuits(2) passing through or bypassing the resistance, a plurality of surface detection units(10) including a float(1) opening and shutting the switch circuit, wherein the resistances of each unit connected in serial by accumulating the liquid detection units and surface level is detected by measuring electric synthetic resistance value, and a display part(20) displaying the detected synthetic resistance value.
