PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle cooling structure for speedily trapping heat from a spindle with temperature increased by heating of a rotor of a spindle stock with a built-in motor and cooling the spindle. SOLUTION: In the spindle stock 1 with the built-in motor 3, a thermal conductive pipe 50 made of a material with high heat conductivity is loosely inserted into a hollow part 7 in the spindle 6 formed as a hollow shaft, and a hot conductive material having fluidity is filled into a space 7 formed with the entire region of an inner peripheral surface 9 of the spindle 6 and the entire region of an outer peripheral surface 55 of the thermal conductive pipe 50. The heat of the spindle 6 trapped by the hot conductive material is discharged to the external part through a cutting lubricant supplied to the inside of the thermal conductive pipe 50 or compressed air for operating a holding device 33, and is radiated to the external part through the holding device 33 disposed at the tip of the thermal conductive pipe 50 to cool the spindle 6.
