PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant composition which can infiltrate into the emitting source of an offensive odor and relieve the offensive odor and, in addition, ethanol and a surface active agent spread to every corner of the source, prevent the decomposition of the source, and suppress the emission of the offensive odor when the composition is merely brought into contact with the surface of the source. SOLUTION: The deodorant composition contains a deodorizing base material composed mainly of an extract from a plant, a perfume exerting a deodorizing effect, the ethanol, and the surface active agent and the surface tension of the composition is adjusted to <=40 mN/m.
