PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of fixing powder materials easily on the substrate by enlarging the surface area of the substrate without utilizing a large scale apparatus, as well as an article with fixed powder materials produced by the method. SOLUTION: This method comprises the following steps of filling a container 5 with calcined powder 2, putting a substrate 1 on the powder and further filling the powder on the substrate, then setting an indenter 3 which fits into the container 5 and putting a block 4 made of aluminum and others on the indenter 3, thermally treating in the atmospheric furnace holding the stack as above-mentioned, picking up the substrate 1 from the furnace after cooling from the thermal treatment, applying ultrasonic wave using ultrasonic washer so that the friable particles 2 fixed to the surface are broken down and leaving many depressions on the surface of the substrate on which surface microparticles 2a are fixed.
