PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an alicyclic group-containing epoxy compound of new structure containing an alicyclic group-containing epoxy group having a specific structure, forming a cured substance having excellent weather resistance, heat resistance and water resistance such as low water absorption, etc. SOLUTION: This method for producing an alicyclic group-containing epoxy compound of general formula (2) (m and n are each an integer selected from 1 or 2; (a) is an integer of >=1; c is a positive integer including 0; a+c is >=1; b and d are each a positive integer including 0; R is a residue after removal of two hydrogen atoms of imino groups of an organic compound containing two or more imino groups) is characterized in that an aliphatic group-containing compound of general formula (1) (R is a residue after removal of hydrogen atoms of imino groups of an organic compound containing two or more imino groups; x is a positive integer of >=1; y is 0 or a positive integer of >=1; x+y is >=2; m is an integer selected from 1 and 2) is epoxidized by using an oxidizing agent.
