PURPOSE: An air filter for air conditioner is provided to check contamination of the air filter in an easy and convenient manner, while allowing the air filter to be easily mounted/removed to/from the space of the front panel. CONSTITUTION: A front panel(2) of an air conditioner has a space(4) for air ingress, and the space has an air filter(6) mounted to the front surface of the space so as to purify the sucked air. A suction grille is mounted to the front surface of the air filter. The air filter is mounted to the front surface of the space through a coupling unit which includes a coupling groove(10) formed at the both upper front surfaces of the space, a coupling rod(12) protruded from the rear surface of the air filter so as to be inserted into the coupling groove, and a supporting holder arranged at the both lower front surfaces of the space so as to support the air filter. The coupling rod has a protruded ring(14) arranged along the outer periphery of the coupling rod so as to prevent the coupling rod from being escaped from the coupling groove.
