ROOT HINGE ASSEMBLING AND FOLDING TEST JIG

PURPOSE: A root hinge assembling and folding test jig is provided to examine the root hinge connecting an artificial satellite main body and a solar array panel to unfold the solar array panel in the outer space by testing on the ground under the same condition. CONSTITUTION: A fitting(15) of an artificial satellite is fixed on a fitting fixing plate(2) by fasting a fixture(11) onto the fitting fixing plate. A fitting(16) of a solar array panel is fixed on the inclined surface of a fitting fixing plate(3) by using a fixture(12). Herein, a protrusion of the fitting is inserted into a groove(13) of the fitting fixing plate(3). An S-shape wire, a hinge tape, and a plate are placed on the assembling locations of the fittings for being temporarily assembled. A Teflon road is inserted into a helicoil of the fittings. Then, a wire is placed and a stop and a plate are put on the wire after applying an adhesive thereon. Therefore, a folding test is performed by using a folding test jig. Herein, the jig is formed by a fixing plate and a location fixture on a bottom plate. The location fixture contains a deep groove for varying the fixed location of a bolt.
