PURPOSE: A bell setting method of IP phone is provided to easily recognize the other party by storing a bell wound set differently from an IP address of the other party in a look-up table and outputting the differently set bell sound according to a received IP address. CONSTITUTION: When an IP address is received from an external source(S1), it is determined whether the received IP address has been stored in a look-up table(S2). If the corresponding IP address has been stored in the look-up table, it is determined whether an inherent ring mode has been stored in the look-up table(S3). If an inherent ring mode has been set in the look-up table, the corresponding ring mode is generated(S4). If the IP address has not been stored in the look-up table or there is no ring mode, a defaulted ring mode is generated(S5). If it determined whether the inherent ring mode is to be stored in the IP address(S6), and the inherent ring mode is stored together with the corresponding IP address stored in the look-up table and an extension number.
