Method and arrangement for control of a combustion engine for a vehicle, e.g. a diesel engine (10) for a heavy vehicle of the kind which includes a mechanical gearbox (13) and a manually operable clutch (11). The invention is distinguished in that the fuel supply to the engine (10) is limited if: (i) the vehicle's speed is below a prescribed threshold value, (ii) the clutch (11) is disengaged, and (iii) the engine speed exceeds a predetermined value. The invention also relates to a combustion engine provided with such an arrangement. |
