PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain satisfactory connection by preventing the end part of a pattern from becoming a reversely tapered shape at the time of forming the pattern by etching off the insulating film arranged under a wiring while using the wiring as a mask and by suppressing the step cutting of a connecting elec trode which is to be provided on the end part. SOLUTION: At a source side external input terminal part 5 which is provided on a TFT(thin film transistor) array substrate in this liquid crystal display device, an island semiconductor layer 11 is provided between the source side external input terminal 10 and a source wiring 3 of a part (connecting part) where the source side external input terminal 10 made of the same material as that of a gate wiring 2 and a gate electrode 8 is arranged on a glass substrate 1 and the terminal 10 and the source wiring 3 are overlapped with each other.
