PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device, driving method, and driving circuit capable of preventing, a flicker from occurring, and also avoiding the changing over of an unnecessary polarity pattern. SOLUTION: A gray level difference judging part 41 detects a gray level difference between the image data to be supplied to two pixels of the same color, and when the gray level difference exceeds a prescribed value, a big-and- small relation same pattern detecting part 43 and a lateral direction pattern number count part 44 check whether or not a big-and-small relation between the gray levels of the two pixels each and the same big-and-small relation continue by a certain number or more in the lateral direction. And, when the relations continue by the certain number or more, the big-and-small relation is checked in the vertical direction in plural continuous lines, and the presence or absence of flicker is judged from the result. And, when there is a fear of occurrence of flickers over plural frames, a polarity pattern for deciding the polarity of the image data to be supplied to a liquid crystal display panel from a data driver is changed over by varying a polarity pattern change-over signal FLK.
