PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high coupling ratio with an optical fiber and a gentle tolerance against adjustment fixations, in connection with such an asymmetrical beam shape of a semiconductor laser element as an elliptical shape. SOLUTION: The semiconductor laser module, which has a semiconductor laser element for forming an elliptical outgoing light, is provided with a lens 3 for converging such elliptical outgoing light and with such a tapered part 21 of an optical fiber that has a tapered lens at the end face of the optical fiber and that serves to enter the light converged by the lens into the optical fiber. |
