PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a surface crack of a monorail with high reliability and high workability by making it easy to grasp a crack state to display the same. SOLUTION: In the method for detecting and displaying a crack on the rail surface 20 of a monorail 21, the rail surface 20 is photographed by a camera 31 to obtain image data which are, in turn, subjected to image processing to perform the extraction/quantification processing of the crack of the rail surface 20 at every divided small section and the processed result is outputted and displayed for every small section. The detected crack data of the rail surface 20 is calculated with respect to all of a large number of continuous small sections and these crack data are displayed along with distribution diagrams 70, 71 thereof.
