PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer an air-core coil which realizes a small-sized choke coil of improved space factor, which can enlarge the sectional area of a self-fused insulating flat-square wire and can made a large quantity of current to flow, even when a pot-shape core in use currently is used. SOLUTION: An air-core coil 1 provided with a winding part 1a, an initial lead part 1b and a final lead part 1c and in which a choke coil is composed of a pot-shape core and a plate-shape core. The air core coil is formed, by winding a plurality of self-fused insulating flat-square wires 2 to be signal line, while laminating them in the thickness-direction. The wire 2 of the part of the initial lead part 1b of the air core coil is arranged to be brought in tightly contact in parallel, while being slid sideward at an edges part of the air core coil, and then it is fused by heating.
