PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an icon corresponding to position information on a map in a short time. SOLUTION: Indexes for retrieval are described by pieces of POI information at the part of 10th and 11th lines shown by 13. Tags for the indexes for retrieval include information on positions (latitude and longitude), categories of information, discriminations between a moving body and a non-moving body, and geodesic systems. The latitude and longitude are fixed in the number of digits and displayed fixedly in degree representation. The POI information is described at the part of the next 11th line shown by 14. A representative position of an objective is expressed by a position. The position is described in the form of latitude and longitude. The same position as the position described in the index is described. An index in a position information file which is read out of a memory card is retrieved and a table of positions is generated. An icon is displayed on a map corresponding to the position. |
