POWDERY TONER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powdery toner capable of forming an electric conductor pattern using an electrophotographic technique and containing an electrically conductive material having good electric conductivity and a method of producing the toner. SOLUTION: The powder toner is a spherical powdery toner obtained by fixing a resin having an acidic group and containing an electrostatic charge controlling agent on the surfaces of particles of an electrically conductive material coated with a synthetic resin having an acidic group. A mixture of an electrically conductive material and a water-insoluble resin convertible to a self-water-dispersible resin by neutralization is emulsified in the presence of a neutralizing agent to prepare an aqueous dispersion (I). A resin having an acidic group and convertible to a self-water-dispersible or water-soluble resin by neutralization is subjected to phase inversion emulsification in the presence of a basic neutralizing agent to prepare an aqueous dispersion (II). The resin having an acidic group is stuck or deposited and fixed on the surfaces of particles of resin coating electric conductor by adding an acid to a uniform mixed solution of the dispersions I and II and the powdery toner is produced.
