PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems such that the emission intensity of a radiated beam lowers over time due to penetration of toner, etc., and realize a long life laser beam source with stable emission intensity. SOLUTION: The laser beam optical source has a light source 1 composed of one or a plurality of semiconductor lasers or semiconductor laser array, a collimate lens 5 for collimating a laser beam emitted from the light source into a parallel beam or approximately parallel beam, and an aperture 6 for regulating the beam padded through the collimate lens, and a control-drive circuit 3 for the semiconductor lasers. These elements are integrated into a unit. Further, the beam source comprises elastic members 8, 9 disposed around the light source 1 or a holder 2 for holding the light source 1 or between the light source 1 and the collimate lens 5. This blocks toner, etc., from penetrating into the light source device in a simple constitution, and a long life laser beam source with stable emission intensity is obtained.
