PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize an infrared ray detector, to reduce a cost and to improve the productivity. SOLUTION: This infrared ray detector is provided with a first substrate section 10 and a second substrate section 20 connected and arranged face to face. The first substrate section 10 is provided with an infrared ray transmitting substrate 11 formed with a cavity section 12 opened on one face facing the second substrate section 20, an infrared ray detecting element 14 arranged on the cavity section 12 on one face side of the substrate 11, and protruded electrodes 16 formed on one face of the substrate 11 to extract the output signal of the infrared ray detecting element 14 to the outside. The second substrate section 20 is provided with an insulating substrate 21 formed with a cavity section 22 at the portion facing the infrared ray detecting element 14 and formed with connecting holes 23 penetrating at the portions facing the protruded electrodes 16, conductive sections 24 made of a conductive material buried in the connecting holes 23 and electrically connected to the protruded electrodes 16, and a surface electrode 25 electrically connected to the conductive sections 24. |
