The brake controller controls the braking forces on the front and rear wheels of a vehicle with a vehicle speed detector, a deceleration detector and a brake controller that performs control such that if the deceleration is not less than a value defined according to the vehicle speed so that it smaller for increasing speed, the braking force applied to the rear wheel is limited compared to the force on the front wheel.
