The invention relates to a device for atomizing a liquid product, thereby forming a hollow cone of liquid, said device at least comprising a housing (11, 12) into which a first medium in the form of a liquid product for atomization can be supplied, said housing comprising an outflow end (10) and an insert piece (6) with a guide end (2) that interacts with an outflow end of the housing, thereby forming an annular outflow gap (9), characterised in th at the housing of the device is accommodated in the bottom (8) of a hollow casing; and in that apertures (7) are present in the bottom of the hollow casing (1), while at least a second medium can be supplied into the hollow casing, which medium can flow out of the apertures (7) and interact with the hollow cone of liquid. The invention also relates to a spray drier, of which a device according to the invention forms part, and also to a device for conditioning a liquid product using the invention. Finally, the invention relates to a method for conditioning a liquid product, which method is carri ed out using a device according to the invention.
