The present invention relates to the use of specific carboxy compounds, more specifically to the use of 2(4-acetoxyphenyl)-2-chloro-N-methyl-ethylammonium chloride, in the treatment of inflammatory diseases. Part of the invention is also a composition, preferably a pharmaceutical composition, comprising as active ingredient at least 2(4-acetoxyphenyl)-2-chloro-N-methyl-ethylammonium chloride together with (pharmaceutical) acceptable excipients.
