A device, method, and medium of a star chart navigation system for readily showing the positions of the sun, the moon, major planets and fixed stars, major nebulae and star clusters, and constellations formed by connecting major fixed stars, all seen in the sky in a specific direction at the place and at the time. A computer program constituted of sub-programs for showing the date and time, the right ascension, the declination, the background of the sky, the positions of major celestial bodies recorded on a recorded medium where a computer program is recorded according to information such as the latitude and longitude of the place and the direction of movement specified by means of a terminal of the Global Positioning System (GPS) is executed in conjunction with a conventional map navigation system. The positions of the sun, the moon, major planets and fixed stars, major nebulae and star clusters, and major constellations formed by connecting major fixed stars seen in the sky in a specific direction at the time and at the place are shown on the screen, and the names of the fixed stars, nebulae, star clusters, and constellations are displayed.
