A fuel-cell installation has at least two separately driveable part-systems, in which the part-systems are dissimilar, and specifically have separate voltage regulation and/or power electronics. The part-systems are connected electrically in parallel, and at least one part-system of the installation is comprised of at least one high-temperature-polymer-electrolyte-membrane (HTM) fuel-cell unit and/or a polymer-electrolyte-membrane (PEM) fuel- cell unit. The fuel-cell installation more specifically comprises at least one starter system and/or one low-voltage (LV) system.
