PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood preserving agent which is gentle to environment and has excellent mothproof or/and antiseptic effect. SOLUTION: (1) A wood anti-septic agent or a mothproof agent comprising a plant belonging to the Castanea genus, the Commiphora genus or the Styrax genus or its treated article, (2) a wood anti-septic agent comprising a plant belonging to the Uncaria genus or the Sophora genus or its treated article and (3) a wood mothproof agent comprising a plant belonging to the Coffea genus or its treated article, are provided.
