摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a friction material capable of improving creaking properties and strange noise properties by using a conventionally present and commercially available potassium titanate fiber without requiring combining plural fibers having large difference in fiber diameter and fiber length which make a uniform mixture or dispersion difficult. SOLUTION: This friction material is characterized by using at least potassium hexatitanate fiber and potassium octatitanate fiber as combination as a reinforcing fiber and compounding the fibers in the total amount of 2-40 wt.% based on the whole friction material in the friction material composed of the reinforcing fiber, a friction conditioning agent and a bonding agent. The compounded ratio of the potassium hexatitanate fiber and the potassium octatitanate fiber is preferably within the range of (1:4) to (4:1) expressed in terms of the weight ratio.</p>
