An electric starter drive is engaged by a rocking fork-shaped lever 11 and actuated by control means having an electromagnet 17 with a core 4 associated at one end with a switch (not shown) of the motor energization circuit and at the other end with the forked lever 11. Means for locking the drive is an electromagnet having a core which positively locks the drive in its inoperative position directly or through the forked lever. In a modification (not shown) the electromagnet core is formed with a cam face which co-operates with balls which are released when the core is attracted. Other modifications are described. |
