PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pachinko game machine livening up the contents of a game by giving variation to an auxiliary decorating effect in a variable display game. SOLUTION: The pachinko game machine has a special pattern display device for playing the variable display game by plural patterns with the entering of a game ball into a starting prize-winning port as a condition, a game controlling circuit for controlling the whole game and outputting display information on the variable display game in the special pattern display device, and a display controlling circuit for controlling display by the special pattern display device based on the display information transmitted from the game controlling circuit. The game controlling circuit decides whether to make the variable display game a big winning and outputs the display information including mode information for identifying the varying mode of the variable display game based on the deciding result. The mode information includes information for identifying the kind of ready when the variable display game becomes ready. The display controlling circuit displays the background picture of the variable display game in accordance with the kind of the ready based on received mode information in the case of making the variable display game ready.
