PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-cleaning type ink-jet printer with a cleaning mechanism. SOLUTION: The self-cleaning type printer system 400 with a washing liquid supply part and a wiper blade assembly 132 includes a printing head 16 in which a plurality of ink passages are defined. Each ink passage terminates at an ink-jet nozzle 25. The printing head 16 also has a surface part 15 thereon which surrounds all nozzles 25. A pollutant accumulates to the surface part, thereby completely or partly blocking the nozzles 25. The wiper blade assembly 32 is arranged relatively to the nozzles 25 for directing a flow of a washing liquid of the surface part 15, and/or along the surface part 15 and/or traversing the nozzles 25. The wiper blade assembly 32 makes a wiper blade 195 slide in contact thereby cleaning the pollutant from the surface part 15 and/or the nozzles 25.
