摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve safety during the generation of fuel, in a fuel injection pump adaptable for an engine for an aircraft. SOLUTION: A fuel injection pump comprises a fuel boosting mechanism, such as a rotor 90, a plunger 96, and a cam ring 110, to generate boosted fuel such that fuel sucked from a fuel low pressure chamber 12 at a suction stroke is boosted at a boosting stroke; and a fuel spill valve 30 to feed boosted fuel, boosted by a boosting mechanism when a valve element 32 is opened, to the fuel low pressure chamber 12 and feed boosted fuel to a fuel discharge passage 93 connected to the fuel injection valve of a diesel engine when the valve element 32 is opened. The fuel spill valve 30 forms a normally-closed valve where the valve element 32 is closed in a normal state and is constituted such that when boosted fuel is fed to the fuel low pressure chamber 12, a drive current is fed to the electromagnetic coil 31 of the fuel spill valve 30 to open the valve element 32.
