PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a preparation for the oral cavity capable of forming films of calcium phosphate on tooth surfaces and suppressing the occurrence of carious teeth. SOLUTION: This preparation for the oral cavity comprises (A) a water-soluble organic acid calcium salt or a water-soluble organic phosphoric ester calcium salt and (B) a water-soluble phosphate and is capable of releasing calcium ions and phosphate ions in the oral cavity and characterized as raising the ionic concentration of either one of both the ions in the oral cavity and then reducing the ionic concentration by the formation of an insoluble salt.
