PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the breakage of appliances caused by the expansion of a coil spring in case that an article to be packaged can be exceptionally bitten by a body and a lid in a vacuum-packaging machine. SOLUTION: A chamber 15 to be supported by a rotary valve 13 via an arm 14 comprises a body 16 and a lid 17, and when the rotary valve 13 and the chamber 15 are rotated counterclockwise by a main shaft 12, a roller 20 at one end of a bell crank 19 supported by the arm 14 via a pin 18 revolves around a circular cam 10. The lid 17 is constantly separated from the body 16 by the self-weight at the other end of a swing lever 22 one end thereof supported by a pin 21 on a lower side of the body 16, and thus, the roller 20 is rolled constantly in a pressed manner against a circumferential surface of the circular cam 10 via a tensile spring 45 to connect an intermediate portion of the swing lever 22 to the other end of the bell crank 19. The roller is displaced to the position of the imaginary line 25 at the maximum radius part in the cam 10 to vacuum-package an unsealed packaging body 26 inside the body 16 to be closed and the lid.
