PURPOSE: To enhance strength of a cage of a constant velocity universal joint. CONSTITUTION: A pair of end surfaces 38 opposed in the cage peripheral direction of a pocket 36 formed in a cage 31 are formed of a surface cut after quenching, the surface hardness is set lower than surface hardness of a pair of side surfaces 37 opposed in the cage axis direction, and tenacity is imparted to a column part 39 formed between pockets 36 to improve strength of the cage 31.
