PURPOSE: A correlation arithmetic unit is provided to find correlations even when a frequency error is increased. CONSTITUTION: A correlation arithmetic unit is provided with a 0-th order correlation section(110a) that finds the correlation between a reference signal and a measured signal to provide an output, n-th order correlation sections(110b-n) having ejωt multiplier sections(112b-n) that calculate frequency component additional signals obtained by adding frequency components to the reference signal and a correlation arithmetic section that finds the correlation between the frequency component addition signals and the measured signal and provide an output, and an adder section 120 that adds the output of the 0-th order correlation section(110a) and the output of the n-th correlation sections(110b-n). The output of the 0-th order correlation section(110a) and the output of the n-th order correlation sections(110b-n) added by the adder section(120) have no increased noise/correlation value ratio even when the frequency error is high. Thus, even when the frequency error is increased, the correlation can be found.
