DEVICE FOR DECIDING PHASE POSITION OF DATA SIGNAL

PURPOSE: A device for deciding phase position of data signal is provided to determine the phase position of data signal and to supply phase position signal indicating the position of modulated bit of data signal. CONSTITUTION: The phase position detection device searches a set of 3 or 5 successive digital signal sample values at which the differences between the outer values at the same distance from the central value are below a given threshold, with storing of the center value bit position of a data signal into a memory(9) at detecting a set of 4 successive values with 2 center values which are the same and 2 outer values which differ from them by a given amount, with entry of the bit position of the center point between the(2) center values in a memory(10). The phase signal representing the phase position of the bits of the sampled data signal relative to a given start point is determined from at least 2 recorded bit positions.
