PURPOSE: Provided is a composition for the pretreatment of textiles, which gives excellent wetness to the textiles and dose not be foamed without using a defoaming agent such as silicone. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises: a sulfonate formula1:R1R1R2C-CR1R2-(-CR1R2-)n-R1 or C2-C12, preferably C4-C10 aliphatic polyol; an ethoxylated alcohol formula2:R3-O-(-CH2CH2-O-)r-x or a mixture thereof; an alkoxylate formula3:R3-O-(-Z-)t-x or a mixture thereof; water. In the formula, R1 is independently H, C1-C4 alkyl radical, unsubstituted phenyl radical, or -SO3-M+ radical substituted phenyl radical, R2 is independently R1 or -SO3-M+ radical, M is Na, K, or NH4, r is 1-8, t is 4-30, n is 0-8, Z is 20-80% -CH2CH2-O- and 80-20% -CHR4-CHR5-O-, one of R4 and R5 is H and the other of R4 and R5 is CH3, R3 is C4-C20 straight or branched alkyl radical, and X is 50-100% H and 0-50% methyl, ethyl, or phenyl radical.
