PURPOSE: To provide a digital television signal reception unit that can reduce the cost by simplifying its structure and can be immune to the effect of a noise or the like generated by a television receiver main body section. CONSTITUTION: The digital television signal reception unit is provided with a metallic case 11, a frequency conversion circuit 1 that applies frequency conversion to a received digital television signal into an intermediate frequency signal or a base band signal, an OFDM signal processing circuit 2 that processes the intermediate frequency signal or the base band signal to output an MPEG bit stream signal, and a control signal outputted from a control circuit placed outside the metallic case 11 controls the operation of the frequency conversion circuit 1 and the signal processing circuit 2.
