MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND HAND-OFF PROCESSING METHOD BETWEEN ASYNCHRONOUS BASE STATION AND SYNCHRONOUS BASE STATION IN THE SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing a processing time of hand-off in the case of the hand-off from an asynchronous base station to a synchronous base station and to provide a mobile communication system adopting the method. SOLUTION: This invention provides a processing method and also the mobile communication system adopting this method. This method includes a 1st step where a common channel is set between a synchronous base station and a mobile station, a 2nd step where whether or not an asynchronous base station that hands off from an adjacent asynchronous base station is in existence is judged by utilizing monitor information of an adjacent base station, a 3rd step where hand-off is requested to a synchronous base station when no asynchronous base station for hand-off is not in existence and a compressed mode message is received via a common channel, a 4th step where the hand-off synchronous base station is selected by utilizing this message, and a 5th step where hand-off is executed for the synchronous base station selected by the asynchronous base station.
