Has sensor (90a) to detect end of data exchange and to deliver an end output signal, which causes inverse operation of card drive for card extraction. Card drive rollers (31,32) can be turned manually or be driven by an electric motor capable of operating forwards and backwards. A gear mechanism reduces the motor speed for rotation of the rollers (31,32). Memory card terminal (1) designed to receive an inserted card (2)and to extract data from the card. The terminal includes: (a) a housing (12) with an insertion slot (21);a pair of pivoting rollers for gripping the card;motorized electrical roller drives capable of operating in normal and inverse directions for insertion and ejection of the card;a first sensor (71) for detecting card insertion into the slot;a second sensor (72) for detecting that the card is positioned correctly;a card ejection control system which can be operated manually;a controller for ejection signal output;a third sensor (73) to detect that the card has been ejected; a controller (90) which activates the normal and inverse operation of the rollers as a function of data from the sensors.
