PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute resolution conversion without color slurring, and the blotting and blurring of a color and to execute an interpolation processing corresponding to the partial feature of a picture. SOLUTION: Multivalue color picture data shown by first color space (RGB) are converted into second color space (L*a*b*) in a first color conversion processing part 4. A peripheral pixel selection part 5 selects plural peripheral pixels for using them for the operation of the pixel value of the pixel being the object of interpolation from the existed pixel at the periphery of the pixel being the object of interpolation. In a luminance relation operation part 6 and a color relation ration part 7, the color relation operation part 7 decides an operation method for operating the pixel value of the pixel being the object of interpolation based on luminance information and/or color information on the peripheral pixel. A pixel interpolation part 8 interpolates the pixel being the object of interpolation by using the decided interpolation operation. |
