PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for working a document capable of simultaneously reading an original document and a document designated by URL described in the document and a device for displaying the worked document. SOLUTION: A document working device 3 is provided with a URL detecting part 31 for detecting the description of URL for obtaining another information from a document, an information obtaining part 32 for obtaining the information through a communication line according to the description of the URL detected by the URL detecting part 31, a thumbnail preparing part 33 for preparing a thumbnail image from the information obtained by the information obtaining part 32, and a document working part 35 for working the document by inserting information indicating the thumbnail image prepared by the thumbnail image preparing part 33. The document working part 35 can work the document by inserting the information indicating the thumbnail image prepared by the thumbnail image preparing part 33. Thus, it is possible to simultaneously display the document and the thumbnail image at a document displaying device 1.
