摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-way self-curing torus communication network adopting a subcarrier multiplex system, that can quickly be restored on the occurrence of a broken optical fiber and of a fault in a light source/optical receiver. SOLUTION: A central base station CBS and a plurality of communication network units ONU are interconnected as a torus form by a single optical fiber to configure the optical communication network of this invention. The central base station CBS and each communication network unit ONU are provided with a couple of optical transmitter-receiver sets (normal operation use optical transmitter-receiver sets 110, 210, and fault recovery optical transmitter- receiver sets 120, 220), so as to save the optical fiber in the case of initially building up the network and also to make transmission through the fault recovery optical transmitter-receiver sets 120, 220 on the occurrence of the broken optical fiber and of a fault in a light source/optical receiver thereby quickly recovering the fault.
