PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To connect a plurality of submarine stations in parallel with a single landing station by providing a submarine branching device for branching a submarine optical cable so as to improve the reliability of this system and reduce cost. SOLUTION: Two feeding wires 14, 15 are connected with a feeding wire 12 connected with a DC feeding device 32 at a landing station 21 through a submarine branching device 25. The submarine branching device has current stabilization circuits 26, 27 connected with two branch terminals of a branch line, respectively. When a disconnection occurs in one of the feeding wires 14, 15, the DC feeding device detects a rise of a voltage to reduce an output current down to a predetermined value. The current stabilization circuit connected with the normal feeding wire continues feeding irrespective of the disconnection of the feeding wire on one side. When grounding occurs in the feeding wires 14, 15, feeding is done in the same way as ordinary time.
