PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor capable of automatically updating set-up information for reducing a workload at the time of updating the set-up information. SOLUTION: An EEPROM stores not only a definition information group defining arbitrary real information to be updated and classification information individually indicating the real information as the present edition of set-up information but also the number of edition information of the definition information group. Also, the set-up information of the updated edition is developed in the working area of an RAM or EEPROM. A CPU 1 compress the number of edition information of the present edition with that of the updated edition (S2), and judges whether or not the same classification information as that of the present edition is present for each definition information of the updated edition (S4). When the same classification information is present (S4: YES), the pertinent definition information is overwritten in the development working area of the updated edition (S7), and then the CPU replaces the data which are present in the area of the updated edition with the data in the storage area for present edition of the EEPROM in a batch (S9).
