PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pot type oil burning appliance in which even a substandard fuel such as kerosene of which component is close to a light oil by degradation to a defective kerosene or mixture with different kinds of oils can be used. SOLUTION: A bottomed cylindrical pot 3 with a number of air hole 3a provided on the side wall is mounted to an air path 2, a heater 6 for the pot 3 is provided to the bottom face with a space between them, the heater 6 is energized from an ignition action to the start of combustion. Kerosene is sent by a fuel-supply means 4 through a fuel pipe 5 and air sent by a combustion blower 1 through an air path 2 are fed to the pot 3 heated by the heater 6 to start a combustion. A heating controller 8 controls a turn on/off of current- passing of the heater 6 during a normal combustion controls by an activation means 7 which operates when a carbon exists in the pot 3, and carbon accumulated in the pot 3 is vanished at the time when the heater 6 is energized.
