PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data communication controller capable of realizing a network environment where data communication between devices connected to a network can be efficiently performed in accordance with the format of data such as data size or data format or the state of the network. SOLUTION: The data communication controller 2 confirms the data size or data format by analyzing transmitting data outputted from an information processor 1 connected by a power supply/communication cable 6, and when the transmitting data are larger than a prescribed size or formed unsuitable for data communication using a power line 3, a data communication line 4 is selected as a line to be used for data communication. Then, data communication is executed by using the data communication line 4. In the other case, the data communication is executed by using the power line 3. Thus, since data communication can be executed while using the line suitable for data to be communicated, efficiency in data communication between devices connected to the network can be improved.
