<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner binder which gives good low temperature fixing property and high temperature of causing hot offset and which has excellent imaging property when the toner is produced. SOLUTION: The binder for an electrophotographic toner consists of a styrene-acrylic resin (A) having carboxyl groups and a styrene resin or styrene- acrylic resin (B) having functional groups (b) which react with carboxyl groups. The resin (A) consists of a high mol.wt. component (C) having 2×105 to 2×106 weight average mol.wt. and of a low mol.wt. component (D) having 3,000 to 50,000 weight average mol.wt., and the acid value of the component (C) is less than 1. The weight average mol.wt. of (B) ranges 3×104 to 1×106.</p> |
