PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital still camera which accurately acquires a subject that a user desires to photograph. SOLUTION: By making a lens body 101 rotate to change the focal length in many stages, magnifications of a subject image can be changed. When the lens body 101 is not rotating, magnifications of the subject image can be changed through image processing. These change methods are combined to continuously change the magnifications of the subject image at a low cost, as through the camera had an expensive and complicated zoom mechanism.
