PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a smooth operation of a error erasion prevention plug without impeding miniaturization of a tape cassette. SOLUTION: This tape cassette 1 contains a error erasion prevention plug 23 which can move between two positions where the information signals are recordable and unrecordable to a tape-like recording medium at a storage part 10 of a cassette shell 2 and a color plate 28 which is prepared at the part 10 and has a display part 29 to identify a signal recordable or unrecordable state to the recording medium. In such a constitution, positioning parts 30a and 30b position selectively the plug 23 between the recordable and unrecordable positions.
